Aid to the victims of Ghislenghien: (fr - nl)
What's it all about?
By the 30 th July 2005, exactly a year on from the Ghislenghien disaster, the outward signs at the site will undoubtedly have disappeared… But the Belgian and French victims of this tragedy, those who are left, will bear the physical and emotional scars for a long time to come — some of them, for the rest of their lives.
To bring them a little bit of relief, at least from the worry of unexpected financial problems, our Registered Charity ‘La Cour Des Miracles' has decided to mark the day, just to show that we haven't forgotten them, just in case… We're not the only ones to be concerned — the proof: eBay and others have teamed up with us to hold a public sale of articles and dedications will take place on eBay.be on 30 th July 2005.
Within the charity, Phil Marichal has insisted that the French people who suffered at Ghislenghien should also benefit from this sale. The situation of the French victims, forgotten, has created a polemic, and in our own little way, we wanted to bring them back into the public eye. Phil is currently acting as our ambassador in France, collecting articles from French celebrities, to ensure that the French victims are not forgotten.
This campaign has been launched internationally, and we are expecting favourable responses and pledges from many personalities. We want to keep the exact contents of the long list of articles to be offered for sale on eBay as the biggest possible surprise for 30 th July, so even here we're only going to reveal a few of the surprises, unexpected items or real scoops.

How?
The sale will take place on the eBay website from 30 th July to 8 th August. All the articles collected will be on display there.

Appeal to artistes
A few examples:
Writers are asked to donate a signed special edition of a book, or the public edition signed and including a hand-written extract from the book…
Singers are donating a signed photo, a private possession or stage prop…
Sports personalities are invited to donate a signed article relating to their sport…
We are also awaiting answers from painters, sculptors, illustrators, designers, actors, and so on.
